Israel’s U.N. ambassador stressed the Jewish state’s unique connection to World War II. “The State of Israel represents a people who have endured hardships throughout history, but suffered its worst calamity during the Second World War,” Dan Gillerman told the U.N. General Assembly on Monday at a plenary commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of the war.
