An equal number of Likud and Labor Alignment Knesseters will comprise the Israeli delegation to the United Nations General Assembly when it reconvenes next month. Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan will head the delegation.
According to a report here today, Likud has thus for only named Zalman Shoval. Other members are due to be named shortly. The Alignment members will be Gad Yaacobi, Adi Amorai and Ora Namir. The Democratic Movement for Change, with one representative, has selected David Golomb. The National Religious Party, also with one representative, has not yet announced its delegate.
In addition to the UN delegation, a Knesset delegation will also be present at the European Parliament session in Luxemburg which begins in October. It will be comprised of Yosef Tamir, Eitan Livni and Menachem Savidor, all of Likud; Chaim Barley and Danny Rosolio, of the Alignment; Binyamin Halevy, of the DMC; and Avraham Melamed, of the NRP.
