Israel’s efforts to use atomic energy for peaceful purposes were hailed today by Swiss newspapers as “a revolutionary factor” in the country’s economy.
The Tagesanzeiger, Zurich German-language daily, which called the Israel announcement of its atomic energy activities a “timely” one, saw great significance in a Franco-Israel agreement on atomic energy and in what it termed improvement of relations between Paris and Jerusalem, “particularly in view of French difficulties with the Arab countries.”
