Israel’s Warning on Terrorists Sent to Lebanon by Nation with Agree with Israeli Stand

Several Western countries have accepted Israel’s view that Lebanon must be held responsible for terrorists acts, such as the Lydda Airport massacre, that are planned on Lebanese soil and carried out by gunmen trained in Lebanon, informed sources here said today. The sources disclosed that several states have already transmitted Israel’s warning to Lebanon. The warning was issued last week by Premier Golda Meir in an address to the Knesset. The United Nations Security Council and a number of Western nations have been informed officially of Israel’s position. It was learned that Israel considers inadequate the promise by President Suliemah Franjles of Lebanon that the propaganda activities of terrorists in his country would be curtailed.

Israel has pointed out that the operational head quarters of many terrorist groups are located in Beirut and training camps for terrorists abound near that city. Israel has demanded that the Lebanese government break fully with the terrorist organizations and halt their activities. Israel rejects the claim that this is not possible and points to Jordan which effectively stamped out terrorist activity on its soil once King Hussein decided to do so, According to informed to informed sources, no time limit has been set on Israel’s warning but the reaction of Beirut authorities are being closely watched.
