Israel’s water commissioner issued a report indicating that the nation’s first desalination plant will begin partial operations about two years from now, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. Shimon Tal also said in the report that the plant will be built in Ashkelon, and that the Water Commission is considering building a second plant, probably in Ashdod or Hadera.
