The Israel-United States Friendship League last night held a special meeting to celebrate the inauguration of President Eisenhower. The meeting sent a message of congratulations to the President.
American Ambassador Monnet B. Davis told the audience that the celebration in Israel of the inauguration of an American President was a “great honor for the American people and democracy.” Israel Justice Minister Pinchas Rosen, another speaker, said that it was “fortunate for democracy in general and for the American. People that in such troubled times a man of President Eisenhower’s stature should lead then.”
