It is frankly admitted that a long period of banditry may be expected to follow in the wake of the Palestine outbreak and it is necessary to maintain large forces in the country for a considerable time to come, writes the Jerusalem correspondent of the London “Daily Mail” in a despatch today.

Courts have been set up by order of the Council to try the guilty. The courts consist of British members of the administration, not necessarily judiciary officers or persons with previous magisterial experience. These courts will have the power to inflict punishment up to one year’s imprisonment, the warrant of appointment specifies. They are to commit capital charges to the Assize Court consisting of five regular judges.
