It is odd that the finest piece on last Sunday’s Philharmonic-Symphony program was not on the program at all. It was Bach’s heartrending Air from the Suite in D Major, and it had been added to the printed bill in honor of the memory of Henry Seligman, patron of music and musicians, who died December 23 last.
