It is stated here in best informed circles that England’s “man of mystery,” Col. T. H. Lawrence, disguised as an Arab, having grown a beard, left Egypt for Transjordania a fortnight before the first outbreak in Jerusalem. He is said to have spent a week in Amman, the capital of Transjordania, where he was entertained by Emir Abdullah, the ruler of the territory, which is governed by the High Commissioner of Palestine under the Palestine Mandate. His whereabouts at present are not known.
