“It is the natural right of American citizens to continue to fight with the weapon of the boycott for the ideals for which America fought in 1917,” declared Jacob Chaitkin, counsel to the boycott committee of the American Jewish Congress, in a radio address over Station WARD.
“If,” he continued, “a few years after the Civil war the South had proclaimed the return of slavery, the defeat of the North would not have been more ignominious than is the moral defeat of America in the World War, judged by the events of today.”
