It is understood here that Jerusalem may again become the centre of the southern district, having been a sub-district since the residence of the district commissioner was moved to Jaffa after the departure of former Governor Storrs of Jerusalem. Since then Jerusalem has been under the supervision of deputy district commissioner Keith Roach.
