It is “unthinkable” for President Bush to express support for a Palestinian state until after Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat cracks down on terrorism, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee said. The comment came after Bush said the idea of a Palestinian state has always been part of a U.S. “vision, so long as the right to Israel to exist is respected.”
