It was correct to strip four Hamas lawmakers of their Israeli citizenship, state representatives told Israel’s highest court. The Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday that parliamentarians Muhammad Abu Tir, Ahmed Abu Atoun and Khaled Abu Arafa, and Minister for Jerusalem Affairs Mahmoud Tota, all of eastern Jerusalem, had been stripped of their citizenship by Israel’s Interior Ministry and petitioned the High Court of Justice to have it reinstated.
