Italian Communist leader Palmiero Togliatti charged the Government of Italy today with hostility toward the Arab states.
In a speech, the Communist chief called for a more conciliatory attitude toward the Arab states and reinstatement of an invitation to UAR President Nasser to visit Italy. He insisted these moves were necessary in view of Italy’s growing prestige in the Middle East and insisted that such friendship did not clash with acceptance of Israel’s existence as a state.
