Italian Jewish Author Receives Italy’s Most Coveted Literary Prize

Carlo Levi, author and painter, today won the Premio Viareggio, one of Italy’s most coveted literary awards. The Italian Jewish author, who became world famous upon the publication of his first book, “Christ Stopped at Eboli,” received the award for his latest work, which also deals with the life of peasants in southern Italy.
