The authorities having failed to issue the required permit, elections scheduled for March 8 were today indefinitely postponed by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities. Jewish circles expressed the belief the elections will not be held and predicted the Government will probably appoint a special commissar to administer the union’s affairs.
