Angelo Pavia, noted Jewish statesman and senator, has died of heart failure. He was seventy-five years old. Senator Pavia was widely known as an expert on civil law. He was Undersecretary of Finance in the cabinet of Luigi Luzzatti and headed the international commission charged with the plebiscite in the Upper Silesian area. He was born in Venice, February 24, 1858 and after practicing law, became district attorney of the province of Como. He served several terms in the Chamber of Deputies.
