The Italian Foreign Ministry has informed the United Italian Jewish Community here of the expected arrival from Egypt of 46 Italian Jews. The 46 had been until yesterday, held prisoner by the Egyptians who then forced them to leave the country.
The deportees left from the port of Cairo on the Greek ship “Agamemnon” and are expected to arrive in Brindisi on Thursday. Prior to their arrival, efforts to resettle them are being made by the United Italian Jewish Community in cooperation with the Joint Distribution Committee.
