The Italian wireless today broadcast to Arabs a promise that the “Italian conquest of Somaliland is the first phase of the new order, the outcome of which will be the liberation of Arab territories, Palestine, Transjordan and Aden.”
The announcer said that Italy alone planned to “free Egypt from the British chain” and urged Arabs to remember “the misery and oppression of British rule. He added that King Tbn Saud of Saudi Arabia was massing troops to capture Akaba and that the King fo Yemen was rearming “to win his claim on the Persian Gulf.”
