Italian police today occupied the Jewish displaced persons camp of Trani in an effort to prevent Jewish refugees passing through Italy an route to Israel to escape from the center prior to embarking on Israel-bound vessels.
Meanwhile, it was announced here that 1,000 Jewish displaced persons sailed for the Jewish state during the past two weeks from various Italian ports. The immigrants are mostly from Czechoslovakia and Tripoli.
