The Jewish scientists, Alessandra de la Seta, professor of archaeology at the University of Rome, and Carlo Foa, professor at the Milan University, are among the three receiving this year’s prizes awarded by the Royal National Academy. The prizes are considered the highest award to which scientists can aspire.
The Academy numbers 118 national members, of whom 13 are Jews and 115 corresponding members, of whom 12 are Jews.
