The citizens of the city of Cuneo in the Piedmont, birthplace of Italian unity, marked the fourteenth anniversary of the defeat of the Fascist regime by establishing a committee today to fight against any resurgence of Fascism in Italy. The Mayor of this city of 45, 000 was appointed chairman. He explained that the committee would seek to discourage meetings and demonstrations in Cuneo which would tend to exalt Fascism and create racial or religious hatreds.
The fourteenth anniversary of the execution of Benito Mussolini, founder and leader of Italian Fascism, falls on April 28. Mussolini was captured and executed by Italian partisans in northern Italy as he attempted flight to Germany.
