Acting upon instructions from the Interior Ministry, the police have closed one of the two Jewish agricultural school camps in Italy, it was learned today. The school is in Pisa.
Both police and Interior Ministry have refused to explain the action which has been protested by official Jewish quarters. Why one school should be closed and the other permitted to continue functioning could not be explained in Jewish circles The remaining school is also located in the vicinity of Pisa.
The Government has issued a decree striking 44 Jews off the roll of Italian auditors, effective March 1.
