Two members of Abu Nidal’s terrorist gang have been placed on the wanted list for a murder and attempted murder here six years ago, Il Massager reported.
Rome Magistrate Rosario Priore issued warrants this week for the arrests of Michael Rouphael and Waddud Al-Turk, who allegedly planned the attack in 1984 in which the second secretary of the United Arab Emirates Embassy was seriously wounded in his car and his Iranian companion was killed.
The attack on the Arab diplomat was supposedly a warning to Arab countries allegedly “soft” on Israel.
Jihad Otman, a young Arab arrested and subsequently convicted of the shooting, is presently serving a 24-year prison sentence.
Il Messaggero said Al-Turk is in prison in Pakistan for attempting to hijack a Pan-Am airliner.
