Joseph C. Hyman, secretary of the Joint Distribution Committee, was named executive director at yesterday’s meeting of its executive committee, it was announced today by Paul Baerwald, chairman, Mr. Baerwald said the new office was established in view of the “importance of the many duties which Mr. Hyman has assumed and taken care of in past years with such marked ability and distinction, and because the additional title more accurately corresponds to the functions he has so long discharged.”
