A review of current anti-Semitic manifestations will highlight the next plenary session of the national executive committee of the Joint defence Appeal, to be held in Chicago September 6 and 7, at the Blackstone Hotel, according to an announcement today by Donald Oberdorfer, chairman of the J.D.A. National Council.
The agenda for the meeting, which will bring together all 50 members of the committee from every part of the country, will also feature a complete mid-campaign report of the $6,000,000 national drive for funds to finance the program of the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith in combatting bigotry.
A survey of the campaign will be made by the committee with a view to study the result to date and plan for a successful conclusion of the work started in the spring. while in session, the national committee leaders will initiate plans for the 1948 campaign.
High executive officials of the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation beague of B’nai B’rith will review the current status of anti-Semitism, describe new developments in agency programs and will lead a round-table discussion on phases of relations in this country, today’s announcement said.
