The postponement for one year of the effective date of the national origins clause of the immigration law would not result in any considerable amount of increased accuracy or certainty in the immigration quotas, Samuel W. Boggs, geographer of the Department of State told the Senate Committee on Immigration recently when the Committee in executive session was considering the resolution proposing to defer the effective date of the provision for one year.
The Committee has just made public testimony of departmental representatives at the hearing.
