Charles Jordan, overseas Director-general for the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, today was elected chairman of the governing board of the newly formed International Council of Voluntary Agencies.
The new Council is composed of 70 voluntary agencies in the field of international social welfare. The II-member governing board includes representatives of eight constituent organizations. These are, in addition to the JDC, the National Catholic Welfare Conference, International Catholic Migration Commission, International Social Service, Lutheran World Federation, the World ORT Union, World Alliance of YMCA’s, and the World Council of Churches.
