Henry Levy, director of the Joint Distribution Committee in Czechoslovakia, left here last night for Paris after concluding an agreement with the Czechoslovak National Bank to distribute J.D.C. funds among Czech Jews during the next two or three years.
Mr. Levy was ordered to leave the country January 31, 1950, when the J.D.C. offices here were closed, but he received a special extension to conclude his business with the bank. The funds will be distributed monthly through two local Jewish organizations and will be used to assist Jewish students in Czoch universities, the aged and indigent and youth organizations. It will also support medical programs for which the J.D.C. was responsible in the past.
