Jews of this city will launch a drive for $35,000 beginning May 8 in connection with the nationwide campaign of the American Joint Distribution Committee. The appeal will continue for three weeks.
Edmund I. Kaufman and Isadore Hershfeld have been chosen co-chairman of the campaign for the third year.
The local drive is part of the nation-wide appeal by the American Joint Distribution Committee for nearly $3,500,000 to be used in alleviating the distress of destitute Jews in Europe, in settling German Jewish refugees in Palestine and in furthering the Jewish homeland movement.
