Dr. Joseph Schwartz, European Director of the Joint Distribution Committee, is leaving today by air for Warsaw, to survey the needs of the Jews in Poland and organize relief for them. He will be the first Jewish representative from abroad to be admitted to Poland.

(Ten American welfare workers, recruits to the overseas staff of the Joint Distribution Committee, sailed today from New York on the SS “Argentina” for Europe, where most of them will work in the one-time German concentration camps to aid in the relief and rehabilitation of thousands of stateless and non-repatriable Jews among the displaced persons there.)
