The Joint Distribution Committee’s health and reconstruction campaign in Bulgaria has been carried out successfully, Dr. William Schmidt, head of the J.D.C.’s health bureau, and Manuel Siegel, its representative here, declared at a press conference.
They said that the cooperation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Health and other Bulgarian authorities was partly responsible for the program’s achievements. Both J.D.C. aides stress that Jewish health institutions were also available to non-Jewish patients.
