A budget of more than $28,000,000 to aid some 300,000 needy Jews overseas is to be presented tomorrow at the 46th annual meeting of the Joint Distribution Committee. Some 400 delegates from all parts of the United States are expected at the meeting.
Following the adoption of the budget, JDC chairman Edward M. M. Warburg indicated that it will be submitted to the three-day national conference of the United Jewish Appeal, from which JDC receives the bulk of its funds. Mr. Warburg noted that the JDC is currently carrying on relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction programs in some 25 countries of Europe, North Africa and the Near East including Israel. The budget will be presented to the delegates by Charles H. Jordan, JDC director-general for overseas operations.
