The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee announced today that its Warsaw office has been granted permission by Governor-General Hans Frank of Nazi Poland to import matzoth duty free. No limit on the amount of matzoth that may be imported was set.
An estimated 1,000,000 pounds of the Passover food is expected to be shipped into Nazi Poland from neighboring countries as a result of the permission, granted after prolonged negotiations initiated by the J.D.C.
