Jacob B. Lightman, Joint Distribution Committee director for Latin America, and Emanuel Rosen, J.D.C. migration official from Paris, visited Paraguay last week and met with government officials in an attempt to induce them to continue to admit Jewish displaced persons from Europe, it was reported here today. Messrs Lightman and Rosen expressed satisfaction at the results of their mission and said that they had also met with representatives of the Jewish community la Paraguay in an effort to obtain their support for aiding refugee immigrants to adjust themselves to their new surroundings. There are about 3,000 Jews living in Paraguay.
