Tentative plans to establish offices of the Joint Distribution Committee in Switzerland, Italy and Hungary were announced today by Morris C. Troper, J.D.C. European director, following his return here from a visit to the United States.
After a short stay in Paris, Troper said, he will visit London to discuss relief activities there and then proceed to Switzerland, he will go to Budapest to confer with Jewish leaders and local J.D.C. representatives in Hungary, Rumania and other East European countries on relief problems in those countries in the light of the latest developments.
Dr. Joseph Schwartz, newly appointed European vice-chairman of the J.D.C. arrived here yesterday to assume his new duties. Dr. Schwartz was formerly secretary of the J.D.C. in New York.
