More than 500,000 pounds of Passover provisions are now en route to Jewish survivors abroad, the first of a total of 4,100,000 pounds of matzoth, and other holiday supplies purchased by the Joint Distribution Committee for overseas shipment for next Passover, it was announced yesterday by Dr. Joseph C. Hyman, executive vice-chairman of the J.D.C.
Additional quantities of matzoth will also be baked in Europe and paid for by the J.D.C., Dr. Hyman stated. Sacramental wine for the Passover holiday will be purchased in Palestine for distribution among Jewish survivors.
