The Joint Distribution Committee today dispatched by plane 5,000 units of anti-typhus vaccine to check the spread of typhus among Jewish refugees in Teheran. The action was taken following reports from the Iranian capital that a typhus epidemic has broken out in the section where the Jewish refugees are housed.
It was also learned today that the Joint Distribution Committee representative here has sent a shipment of matzoth to 3,200 rabbis and orthodox refugee families in Russia.
