The Jewish National Fund’s seventh “Kol Maadama” (Voice of the Land) conference opened here today. Dr. Abraham Granot (Granovsky), world head of the J.N.F., reviewing the work of the Koren Kayemeth during the past two years, revealed that the Fund acquired nearly 1,000,000 dunams of land during the past year. The goal for next year, he added, is the acquisition of an additional 2,000,000 dunams.
Since the establishment of Israel, Dr. Granot stated, 133 new settlements were established on J.N.F. land. At the same time, the Fund expended some $60,000,000 during the past few years on various settlement projects, he added.
