Mrs. Archibald Silverman, veteran Zionist and Jewish leader, was guest of honor at a dinner here last night given by the Jewish National Fund on the occasion of her 80th birthday.
A founder of the Israel Synagogue Building in 1946, Mrs. Silverman has been instrumental in aiding the construction of some 80 synagogues in Israel. She has been active for many years in the work of the Zionist Organization of America, the JNF, the American Jewish Congress, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the United Jewish Appeal.
