In 1914 the Jewish National Fund owned 10.8% of its present possessions, a statement issued by the Jewish National Fund Headquarters here declares. In 1920 it owned 12.6% while in 1921 the figure rose to 37%, and in 1925 to 92%.
It took twenty-two years for the Fund to acquire the first 100,000 duanm; in the following three years it fouled its previous possessions.
The headquarters of the Jewish National Fund has received the first payment on account of the bequest of £4,000 made by the late Louis Rosen Blum of Brighten, in England. The total value of the legacy, which consisted of all the wealth of the testator subject to certain provisions in the interest of his widow, was £25,000 Members of the donor’s family are to be settled on the land of the Fund in Palestine.
The headquarters also publishes a statement showing the per capita amount given by each country to the Fund during the past year.
South Africa leads the list of per capita of the Jewish population contributions to the Jewsih National Fund in the past year with 25.6 piatres. Switzerland with 12.8 piastres per head comes next, and Belgium follows with 66 piastres, Jegoslavia fifth with 5.7 piastres.
The per capita contribution of the Jewsih population in the United States was 2.8 piastres.
The Debating Team of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation at Oho State University will journey to Madison, Wisconsin, next month to debate with the Wisonsin Foundation on the question. Resolved: That a national Jewish chest be established for the support of phil anthropoid and educational projects of national and international appeal.
