More than 25,000,000 trees are now being planted along the borders of Israel as a security measure against reoccurring Arab attacks as well as against the renewal of Arab-Israeli hostilities that are now threatened as a result of America’s shipment of arms to the Arab states, Hanan Yarden, chief administrator of the Jewish National Fund in Jerusalem, said yesterday upon his arrival in New York.

Mr. Yarden also stated that the Jewish National Fund has now assumed the responsibility for 25 work villages that have been built along the borders of Lebanon and Syria as part of the security program of Israel. According to the JNF plan, new immigrants who are now coming to Israel in great numbers from Tunisia and Morocco are sent directly from Haifa to the work villages, where farms and houses have been prepared for them.
