The Jewish National Fund directorate in Jerusalem has reached the final stage of negotiations with the Israel Government for a 99-year concession for more than 500,000 dunams of uncultivated land in Israel, mostly in the Galilee, Jacob Tzur, chairman of the JNF board and chairman of the World Zionist Actions Committee, reported here.
He also told a meeting of the honorary officers of the British JNF that the terms of the agreement provide that the JNF will pay the government a nominal rent for the land and develop it partly by reclaiming the land for farm settlement and partly by afforestation.
