The first of a series of events marking the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency will take place in New York on June 13 when the American Association of English-Jewish Newspapers tenders a dinner in honor of the news agency at the Park Sheraton Hotel. The dinner will be a feature of the association’s fifteenth annual convention which will continue for three days.
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency, founded during the first World War to bring developments affecting the Jewish community to world attention, is the only world-wide press service devoted to news of Jewish concern.
Abraham Slabot, president of the publishers’ group, said that 28 weekly newspapers, published in 22 states, would be represented at the convention here to consider editorial and other publishing problems.
