Passover supplies for Jews serving in the U.S. armed forces in every part of the world are being shipped by the Jewish Welfare Board it was announced here today. The supplies are earmarked for outposts in the U.S. zones of Germany and Austria, Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Alaska, Iceland, Puerto Rice and the Virgin Islands.
The J.W.B. has also arranged to hold Passover celebrations in the more than 300 Veterans Administration hospitals and installations in the U.S., with 124 part-time J.V.B. chaplains officiating. To date the J.W.B. has shipped 6,000 packages of matzohs and 4,000 Hagadahs to the U.S. zones of Germany and Austria.
