West coast offices of the National Jewish Welfare Board are prepared to meet the increased needs of the armed forces in this area and overseas with additional religicus materials and Kosber food supplies, Shea Schwartz, J.W.B. West Coast representative, announced here following a special Washington conference of J.W.B., Y.M.C.A., and National Catholic Community Service leaders with Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson.
According to Mr. Schwartz, expansion of J.W.B. staff and facilities, particularly on the West coast, was asked by Secretary Johnson of the newly-formed Associated Services for the Armed Forces–of which the J.W.B. is a part–because of increased needs arising out of the Korean war.
