The National Jewish Welfare Board reported today that a new study has shown that the percentage of Jewish men and women becoming social workers is nearly five times as high as the percentage of Jews in the total American population.
The study was made by Arnulf M. Pins, director of the JWB personnel and training services. First year students in 63 graduate schools of social work in the United States and Canada provided information for the study. More than 14 percent of the 2,771 social work students filling out questionnaires were Jews. Only 3.01 percent of the American population is Jewish.
