The sum of $125,000 is to be raised in annual memberships by the Jewish Welfare Board in order to carry on its Jewish Center activities. A resolution to this effect was unanimously adopted at the Second Biennial Convention, held in Philadeiphia. Judge Lehman, the president of the Jewish Welfare Board, made an appeal for prompt action and it was decided to try to complete the effort within thirty days.
The plan was also discussed at a meeting of the Executive Council of the Board. The following were elected to the Executive Council for a term of six years: Isaac Adler, Rochester; Fred M. Butzel. Detroit; David A. Ellis, Boston; Judge Samuel Greenbaum, New York City; Isaac Hassler, Philadelphia; Irvin F. Lehman, Pittsburgh; Leon J. Obermayer, Philadelphia.
