Vladimir Jabotinsky, leader of the Zionist Revisionists, today denied that he had applied for Polish citizenship, as reported in the press recently. Jabotinsky revealed that the French government had offered him citizenship rights, but he had declined since he desires only Palestinian citizenship, which he hopes to secure soon.
According to earlier press reports, the Revisionist leader had applied for Polish citizenship in order to head the Polish Revisionist movement, which is very strong. It had been asserted that Jabotinsky would stand for election to the Polish Sejm, on a Revisionist ticket, and head a strong Jewish group in the parliament.
As a result of the Arab riots of 1921, when Jabotinsky headed the militant Palestinian Jewish youths who met the Arabs with arms in their hands, the noted Zionist was deported from Palestine. He founded the Jewish Legion which fought under General Allenby in the capture of Palestine.
