Funeral services were held here Sunday for Jack Baumohl, a prominent press photographer in New York City for nearly two decades. He died July 8 at the age of 71 His news photos of events ranging from street crimes and disasters to Presidential visits appeared frequently in the Daily News and now-defunct New York Mirror from the 1940’s until 1963, when failing sight forced him to retire.
Baumohl, one of whose two sons, Charles, is editor of The Jewish News of Metropolitan New Jersey, was a life member of the National Press Photographers Association. His work, nationally syndicated by the Associated Press, won him a number of awards.
